GROUP HOMESTAY

Compass USA Offers a Variety of Short-Term Group Homestay Experiences 
  • Participants reside with carefully selected loving American host families 
  • They are matched in a timely manner 
  • Homestays are customized to meet the special needs of each group 
  • All participants gain a practical, living knowledge of American Culture and the English language.
Types of Homestays:

Cultural Homestay
A group of 10-25 students, accompanied by a bilingual escort, live with American host families in a designated community.  A local Compass USA coordinator facilitates the homestay program including weekly sight-seeing excursions, activities owelcome and farewell parties, and airport transfers.   3 days to 4 weeks

Academic Homestay  
In addition to the basic cultural homestay, participants attend classes 12 -15 hours per week.  Classes focus on American culture, English language skills and American living skills. Carefully trained Compass USA teachers, textbooks and supplemental materials are provided. Our class ratio never exceeds fifteen students to one teacher.
1 week to 4 weeks

Customized Homestay  
Customized programs designed to meet specific group and school requests. In the past these have included basketball camp, tennis instruction, outdoor recreation, American English conversation pals, school and business tours, volunteer opportunities, cultural tours or ski lessons.   3 days to 4 weeks

  • Twelve (12) - Fifteen Hours of classroom instruction per week
  • Textbooks and classroom materials
