Sister School |
Looking for a Sister School in the United States?
Compass USA facilitates sister school relationships with American schools that share similar goals of fostering international understanding and building friendships. We build school partnerships beginning with e-pal relationships and gradually add teacher exchanges, student group visits and homestays, special interest group visits, school tours and visits, and other specialized educational exchange experiences.
Compass USA encourages school teams to identify their primary objectives for an educational exchange and helps them achieve their goals of internationalization via:
The Arts: Creativity and beauty are best shared through the language of the arts. Art provides a
canvas that helps us gain an understanding and appreciation of other cultures.
Music and Theatre: Shared practice and performances foster a creative collaboration that helps form a bridge between cultures.
Conservation and Preservation of the Natural World: Work together to make a difference by learning and contributing to ecological and archeological needs.
Community Projects: Become active partners working side by side to make a difference by building a home, helping in a shelter, providing resources for those in need to genuinely contribute to building a better world.
Science and Technology: Participate in Odyssey of the Mind, the Jason project, and other scientific learning opportunities as you create an international science and technology team.
Education and Language Development: Learn a language in your home school and visit your school partner to practice and improve your language and teaching skills.
Instruction and Staff Development: Teacher exchanges and shared staff development opportunities foster better teaching and learning opportunities for students and teachers alike.
Communication, openness and friendship are essential to help develop a school partnership that will foster educational advancement for all participants. Compass USA invites students and faculty members to assess their international learning needs and interests. Sister school relationships presuppose the mutual respect that makes partnerships equal and free of ethnocentrism. The relationships are carefully designed to be mutually beneficial and balanced for the students and staff from each sister school.
